Understand how your ServicePlus serial key works.

How the license system works

Each ServicePlus license is a serial key in the format SP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. When you run sp setup, the CLI verifies your serial key online and binds it to your specific deployment.

One serial key = one active deployment. You cannot use the same key to set up a second server or project. Each deployment requires its own license. See the Pricing section to purchase additional licenses.

What happens during activation

When you enter your serial key during sp setup, the CLI:

  1. Contacts the ServicePlus license server to verify the key is valid and not already in use
  2. Records your deployment details (server fingerprint) and links them to the serial key
  3. Stores the result securely on your server so future commands work offline
The license system only records your serial key and a technical server fingerprint. No personal information, contact data, or server content is ever transmitted. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Where to buy a license

Purchase your serial key at aimad.net/sp-buy-key. After payment, your serial key will be delivered to your email.

What if my key is not working?

Common reasons a serial key may fail activation:

  • The key was already used on another deployment — contact support to release it
  • The key is expired or was cancelled — contact support for renewal
  • Too many activation attempts in a short period — wait a few minutes and retry
  • No internet connection on your VPS — the server must be able to reach the license API during setup

Releasing a license

If you want to move your deployment to a new server, run sp cleanup on the old server first. This unbinds the serial key so you can use it on the new installation.
